I jump into time, pressing through,
I don’t grow up and refuse anything new,
My lungs, they burn with acid blood mixed air,
I take a hold and breathe in the glowing pear.
The deep harlequin taking over my chest,
I can feel my heart breaking beneath my breast.
I’ve pressed so hard; it doesn’t know what to do,
This heart, that’s trying to free itself from you.
This time, it beats until it breaks,
Shatters into onyx shards and azure lakes.
I sit, grasping, clasping at empty pieces,
Until I hold off, watching as time ceases.
These carnelian bruises take their place,
They mark a memory I’m not willing to erase.
Deep within my memory, I’m breaking through,
And throwing out the shattered pieces of me and you.

It's always fun to think about time and play with it a little.

Time is fun. And you played with it like an overeager cat with a mouse: very brutal. More shades of blue. I also liked the "glowing pear." Pears aren't my favorite fruit, and they do seem to be used as allusions to the female form more often than necessary, but if this pear is the only positive image from the poem, I will cherish it.
